Wheat Statement

Please Note: Some Of The Formulas, Previously Labeled “Wheat-Free” Have Been Required By FDA Law To Be Marked “Contains Wheat” If The Formula Includes Vitamin E. 

Vitamin E is extracted from the germ of the wheat, but the Vitamin E molecule per se does not contain gliadin or gluten.  People who have allergic reactions to wheat react to the gliadin protein contained in the gluten of the wheat.

Nutri-West has sent the Vitamin E out for independent analysis to determine gliadin content, and gliadin did not register on the analysis report, however, Nutri-West intends to comply with the letter of the law.  It should be noted that Dr. Lynn Toohey contacted the American Celiac Society to inquire if anyone had EVER reported a reaction to a Vitamin E supplement made by ANY supplement manufacturer.  The answer was No. 

For legal and liability purposes, doctors can inform their patients of the nutritional formulas containing wheat germ, oat bran (oat bran may contain small amounts of gliadin), or Vitamin E (listed below).
